to give to other attendees.

Dear Chamber Member:

There are a couple of opportunities for you to get involved in some fun activities. Both of them occur on Saturday, October 20th. Your Chamber will have a display table, which it will share with the Tallmadge Rotary at the Fall Family Festival at the Henry Bierce Company. I had a lot of fun
last year, and can use your help again this year to help me pass out activity books & candy to children, and community maps and other items for the adults. Times are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please let me know if you can spare an hour or two to help out.

Our member Melissa Way, Home Savings Bank, also needs some Judges for their costume contest and pumpkin decorating contest for the Fall Fest which they will hold at their offices at 182 Tallmadge Road (The Cascades at Brimfield in front of Walmart) on that same day. Judges need to be available from 9:00 to Noon. Contact Melissa Way at 330.673.8610 if you are able to help out.

Next Wednesday, October 3rd, Lally Health Mart, 23 Erie Road will have their Flu Clinic from 10:00 to Noon. Cost is $30. This is a first-come-first served event.

All Chamber members should have received their ballot for Trustee nominations. If you have not already done so, please take a couple of minutes to vote. Fax back to the Chamber office 330.633.5415, or scan and email, or drop in the mail. Your vote is VERY important, as the Trustees set policy, guidelines and expectations for your Chamber. Please vote!

Dear Chamber Member:
Activities are picking up again, now that fall is approaching.

Our first of two September Live After Five events is this Thursday, September 13th, hosted by Mosholder Realty Inc. at Stonegate Reserve from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Stonegate Reserve is a community of all free-standing custom homes with condo conveniences. The model where the Live After Five is being held is an impressive, beautiful representation of the quality of
these homes. Located at 1146 Cobblestone Drive, take Southeast Avenue past I-76 and turn right on Stonegate Trail. Refreshments will be served.

The Chamber's General Meeting is happy to have Ray Tatko, President of Summit Racing Equipment, as our guest speaker on Wednesday, September 19th. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. here at the Community Center. We will also be introducing nominees for Trustee positions for the 2008-09 term of office. The election will be held in October, so this is your first chance to meet the candidates. You will be electing six new Trustees from the field of eleven who are running. Reservations for the luncheon are required and can be made through the Chamber office. Cost is $12 per person.

Our second Live After Five for the month is being hosted by Scott & Jason Zieman at their new Little Caesars Pizza facility on the Circle. Monday, September 24th from 4:30 to 7:30, this event will be preceeded by a ribbon cutting ceremony. Help us welcome this new business to Tallmadge. Gee...I wonder what will be on the menu?? Sample their pizza and other menu items! Refreshments are sponsored by Pepsi.

If you have not done so already, please add this email address to your computer's address book. Our previous email address with the "sbcglobal.net" extension will be discontinued later this month.

Big news! Your Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce has recently changed telephone services, and as a result we are transitioning to a new email address.

Please add this address to your address book. The previous email address of

There are several items of which I need to make you aware:

1. Notice of Communication Exclusion. You should have received your 2007 Membership Director via the mail recently. As you may be aware, our membership listing also appears on our chamber website www.tallmadge-chamber.com

Other members and the general public have access to this information. If you wish information to be excluded (from the website listing, or future Membership Directories) please notify the Chamber office. I can have information taken off of our website member listing, if you let me know specifically what you want excluded: Telephone number, Email address, Mailing address. Call or email me if you want anything excluded.

2. Fall Banquet. Work has begun on our Fall Banquet, an awards program where in addition to Business Person and Citizen of the Year awards, we also recognize local businesses for milestones in number of years in business...as well as new businesses within the past year. Number of years in business awards begin with 10 years and multiples of 5 years after that, ie., 10, 15, 20, etc. If your company should be recognized for a milestone or as a new business, contact me with the information.

3. Chamber ByLaws. Copies of the Chamber's ByLaws are available from the Chamber office. If you are interested in receiving a copy, call or email me and I will gladly send it to you either via email or regular post.

4. General Meeting Reminder. Next Wednesday, August 15th is our next General Meeting. Reservations are required, so call or email me with your reservation. Cost is $12 per person. Dear Chamber Member:

Our August General Meeting will be Wednesday, August 15th and feature Kathryn Kilpatrick, President of Memory Fitness Matters & Communication Connection as our guest speaker. Her topic "Maximizing Your Memory in the Workplace" is certain to contain tips and techniques valuable to each of us. Reservations are required; cost $12 per person. The General Meeting starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Community Center.

Chamber Member Tom Boggs, Quantum Jewelry, wants you to be aware of a fundraiser on Saturday, August 11th, to benefit Hands of Hope in their efforts to distribute toys to thousands of children, each Christmas season. See the attached flyer for more details.

Member-to-Member Discount Program update: Kristin Lally of Lally Drug Mart is offering a 10% discount on all purchases (excluding beer/wine) in their store located at 23 Erie Road. Just show your Discount card to receive the discount effectively immediately and running through the end of 2007.

Sadly, I must report that I was just informed that Chamber Member Lew Orinsby's wife, Marion, has passed away. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced, and will appear in the local newspapers. I had the pleasure of spending some time with Lew at this year's Expo where he volunteered to help man our Chamber exhibit booth. It was great fun listening to he and Jack Burgess reminisce about the Chamber's history.
